Common Questions

What type of training do the counselors receive?

Our staff spends 4 days prior to camp learning all about caring for campers! All our staff is vetted through background checks, reference calls, and in-depth interviews.

In 2026 we will cover training on trauma-informed care, relational connection, and age-appropriate discussion leadership.

Plus our staff have a lot of fun together and lead our campers in fun too!

Can children use their cellphones to call home while they’re at camp?

There is no cell phone reception at camp.  Many campers enjoy the quiet of camp without their devices.  If you or your camper need to reach each other, or there is an emergency, the camp has a landline.

Can I send mail to my child?

Campers enjoy receiving mail.  Mail may be left with camp staff at check in for distribution during the week.  Mail may also be sent to the camper at:

General Delivery

Red Lodge, MT 59068

Please do not include food in the mail you send. Snacks in cabins attract wildlife.

What if my child needs medication at camp?

The Camp Registration form provides a place to denote medications that a camper may need.  We request that information on all medications be provided in writing and left with the person checking the camper in for the week.  Medications that require a morning and/or evening distribution to the camper are taken care of by a camp staff member.

Please ensure any medications are labeled with instructions prior to sending with camper.

How does drop-off/pick-up work?

Check in always begins at 3:00 p.m. on the first day of camp.  All camps begin on Sunday. We finish each camp at noon on the last day of camp.  For Elementary camp this ends on Thursday, and Middle School and Highschool camps they end on Fridays.

Some may opt to use the Billings First Pres. Bus for transport, which will change drop off locations and times.

Do campers have to be Presbyterian to attend?

Not at all! Camp is open to everyone. Many campers attend from other churches—or no church at all—and still have a meaningful and fun experience. Our program is Christ centered and we welcome students from any background.

What kind of cabins or lodging do campers stay in?

Campers stay and our trained counselors stay in rustic cabins with other campers in their age group and gender.  For the camp season, the boys are housed in cabins near the dining room, and the girls are housed in the cabins at the other end of the camp. Our Cabins provide simple bunk beds and mattresses and basic amenities while keeping the classic Montana camp experience.

What if my camper has dietary restrictions or allergies?

We do our best to accommodate common dietary needs and food allergies. Please include this information during registration so our kitchen staff can plan accordingly.
