About

Westminster Spires was established as a camp in 1936 and has been a ministry of the Yellowstone Presbytery for over 85 years. The camp sits on seven acres of land and operates under a Special Use Permit from the United States Forest Service, allowing us to care for this beautiful place in God’s creation.

Located at the base of Beartooth Pass, Westminster Spires is a small, rustic camp surrounded by mountains, rivers, and trails that invite both adventure and reflection. From camp, we have easy access to Red Lodge, the Beartooth Pass, the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, and the Stillwater River.

Because of our small size, camp stays close-knit, typically hosting 15–25 campers with 10–15 staff members. This creates space for strong relationships, meaningful connection, and individual care.

Our intergenerational model is a special part of camp life. With a high staff-to-camper ratio (often close to 1:2), adults are fully present in the life of camp, and staff children who are not yet camper age are often included in activities, creating a shared community across generations. Life at Westminster Spires is shaped by shared adventure and spiritual community. We hike, explore, learn, and play together, but we also gather in worship, prayer, and conversation—trusting that God meets us in both the quiet and the joy of camp life.

At Westminster Spires, we believe camp is more than a place—it is a sacred space where friendships form, faith is deepened, and God’s grace is experienced in both the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of each day.
